At times, a source device (PC, laptop, AV receiver, cable box, DVD player, video game system, etc.) will not have enough voltage and current dedicated to the HDMI output to drive a long HDMI cable. This will cause a voltage drop and the video quality is affected, or worse, there is no audio or video at all.
