Control4 Drivers
Control4 Drivers for WolfPack Matrix Systems
Control4 Drivers are now available for WolfPack Modular and Fixed Matrix Systems. HDTV Supply is pleased to announce that we have recently added Control4 RS232 and IP Drivers to support our WolfPack™ family of Matrix Systems that uses the RS232 or LAN port as the control method. The Control4 drivers will work with any Control4 hardware that supports OS version 2.51 and higher and is backwards compatible for about 3 to 4 years as most systems are now running OS 3.0. Setting up a Control4 system is usually not a DIY job and requires that you may have to go through an authorized Control4 dealer so contact Control4 for one in your area.
The Two Way Drivers have two versions.
- The first is via the matrices RS232 port.
- The second supports integration via the matrices LAN (TCP/IP) port which means you only have to have the matrix on the same IP network as the Control4 system! No serial cable needed, although that is supported if you desire.
The 2-way versions are located at Control4's Drivercentral.com for $99.00. In addition to the obvious input and output switching, we have also implemented device specific commands so you can save and recall presets and scenes.
Most of HDTV Supplys modular matrix systems are controllable directly through a Control4 SR-250 handheld remote or their Touchpad. The equipment we used to write and test the one-way drivers were the Control4 EA-1 Controller and the Control4 SR-250 remote control. Talk to your Control4 installer about their iOS/Android control app that essentially mimics the layout of the onscreen interface and higher-priced touch-pad controllers. If your Control4 control box is connected to your home network then you can launch the app, sign into your Control4 account and get all the system and automation control right there on your phone or tablet, from anywhere in the house for a fee.
HDTV Supply has two different Control4 drivers, Basic and Advanced...
Basic: The Basic RS232 driver controls only the Ins and Outs of the matrix and is what most users buy. It does not give feedback to the controller of the command being accepted. It is switching control only. It is very simple and has been tested thoroughly with a Control4 C4-HC250 Automation Controller and our matrices operate flawlessly.
For Control4 drivers for the 4x4 and 8x8 matrix Switchers go to Control 4 Drivers for 4x4 and 8x8.
Please ask for them when you buy your matrix as they are free.
Advanced: These are located at Control4's Drivercentral.com. These Advanced drivers control not only the Ins and Outs of the matrix but gives feedback of the command being accepted to the controller as it is a 2-way driver. It does Input and Output switching with feedback, Save preset/scenes and Recall preset/scenes. This is handy when buying our Modular Matrix Switchers with internal Video Walls processors. Call 833-WOLFPACK for more information if you need it.

NOTE 1: The Control4 drivers are licensed to each matrix order and must be ordered again when the matrix order is placed. You cannot get them, or any, Control4 drivers without ordering a matrix system. We send you the drivers by an email attachment when the matrix switcher ships. We're offering drivers in the above sizes to help eliminate extra bindings created by more "generic" versions.
NOTE 2: If you are ordering these for a past matrix order please give us that order number so we can make sure they are compatible with the matrix that you ordered. Failure to do so will delay your order. Call us if you have any questions.
When one is designing an HDMI Matrix Switch the most important initial specification is the number of inputs and outputs you will need in your facility. The next, and often forgotten, is how the user wants to control those inputs and outputs. HDTV Supply has your back when you're buying one of our WolfPack Family of Modular Matrix Switchers. We have them all shown at Numerous Ways To Control Our WolfPack Family Of Modular Matrix Systems:
Along with these Control4 drivers, here are many of our ways to control our WolfPack Modular Matrix Systems:

What is a driver? Drivers are middleware software applications which integrate 3rd party hardware and services into a home automation system. Each control system has its own term for this (Drivers, Modules, Plugins, Profiles) but drivers are the general accepted terminology across the majority of systems. Each system has different architecture so integration to each system has its own unique design.
Who wrote your Control4 drivers? We contracted with a leader in driver development across numerous home automation and control systems.
Certification & Experience Their staff has over 20 years of experience installing, commissioning and programming home automation, audio visual, HVAC, security, lighting and IT systems. They specialize in home automation software development and are certified in numerous home automation platforms including Control4, Crestron, URC, ELAN, RTI, QSC Q-SYS, Savant, Push Controls, Lutron, Clipsal C-Bus and Dynalite.
Custom Designed: We had them tailor the software development using the RS232 serial port on our WolfPack line of Modular Matrix Systems.
Documentation: All of our drivers come with in-depth documentation. As our staff have worked as integrators in the past we understand that documentation is key to minimizing support costs and on-site integration issues.
Service and Support: We understand that you may not have the resources to handle driver support for home automation systems. That is why we have several tiers of support services to suit your support requirements.
Product Certification: Product certification ensures your driver adheres to standards set out by home automation platforms. We work with you through this process to ensure certification is stress free.

Q: Can I use this Control4 driver with your modular matrix systems that have an internal video wall processor?
A: Yes, the Advanced driver can use the RS232 codes to recall the scenes (presets). In another word, when have the TV Wall set up and saved with the presets, you can use the driver to recall those presets.
Q: I'm planning to buy more than one matrix system, do I need to order the drivers every time?
A: Yes.
Q: Are your drivers Control4 Certified?
A: These drivers are not Control4 Certified but that is not a problem since most drivers are not certified as HDTV Supply Inc does not currently incorporate the Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Discovery Protocol) into our products. They work flawlessly.
HDTV Supply has successfully installed our WolfPack HDMI Matrix Switchers with Control4 Drivers in Sports Bars, Restaurants, Bowling Alleys, Fitness Centers, Malls, Places of Worship, Data Centers, Gaming Rooms, Nail Salons, County Clubs, Casinos, Factories, Conference Rooms, Schools, Home Theaters or many other installations requiring HDMI matrix switching. The reason, we are told by the users, is the number of features we offer compared to other companies they looked at.
These WolfPack HDMI Matrix Switchers with Contro4 Drivers are integrated with the RS232 port on the back of the matrix. For experienced AV hardware and software professionals who want to write their own drivers rather than buy these we have created a simple and very easy to use RS232 script to write your own drivers.
EXAMPLE: If you want to switch input 8 to output 1, 8, 16, the RS232 command would be x1&8&16. and notice the command has a period (.) at the end of the string. The matrix even replies "OK" when the right command is received and "ERR" when receiving a wrong command. Here is the RS232 User Manual if you want to write your own drivers.
